About Global Sitrep

Geography explains power.

Global Sitrep is a maps-led site focused on the geographic and physical constraints that shape international politics, security, and strategy.

Much commentary on geopolitics concentrates on ideology, personalities, or short-term events. Global Sitrep starts from a simpler premise: states act within physical limits — distance, terrain, access, population, and logistics. These factors change slowly, but they exert a decisive influence over what is possible.

Our Approach

Maps are not used here as illustrations.
They are the starting point.

Each map isolates a specific strategic reality — a chokepoint, an alliance boundary, an access route, or a geographic constraint. Written analysis exists to explain what the map shows, not to replace it.

The emphasis is on:

  • Clarity rather than volume
  • Structure rather than speculation
  • Long-term constraints rather than daily headlines

How the Site Is Structured

Maps

The core of the site. Maps are treated as reference material — geographic facts that can be revisited as events unfold.
